Sam Martin – Friday 16th August 3pm

If you’re looking to liven up your Friday afternoon, don’t miss out on an exclusive live performance by the magnificent Sam Martin UK. Sam, a talented musician local to Oxfordshire, will be taking the stage at our HMV store’s ‘Live & Local’ session on Friday at 3pm.

Eloquent Youth – Wednesday 31st August 3pm

Harmony-led pop/folk duo Eloquent Youth will be the latest talent to hit the ‘Live & Local’ stage at our HMV store this August! Join brothers Tom & Joel on Wednesday 31st August at 3pm for the latest of their many live performances this summer, including sessions with BBC Countryfile Live and BBC Music Introducing!

Crystallite – Sunday 8th September 3pm

Who’s excited to see a genre-defying performance from Crystallite? The Oxfordshire-local band will be performing live at our HMV store’s latest ‘Live & Local’ session at 3pm on Sunday 8th September.

The Pete Watkins Originals – Saturday 21st September 3pm

Join us for an afternoon filled with acoustic roots style hits from The Pete Watkins Originals band. 

The local musicians will be bringing their mix of beautiful melodies and thought-provoking lyrics to our HMV store’s ‘Live & Local’ session at 3pm. 

Lake Acacia – Friday 27th September 3pm

There’s no better way to celebrate the arrival of the weekend than with our HMV store’s latest ‘Live & Local’ session. Embrace your wild side with fresh faced alt-rock performers Lake Acacia. See their truly unique performance in the centre at 3pm.

A Big Well Done to our Community Awards Winners

This week the centre management team had a lovely visit from Karen Moriarty, the winner of our Community Awards’ ‘Teacher of the Year’ award, who came to pick up her prize.

We’d like to say congratulations again to all of the other wonderful winners of the Castle Quay Community Awards and all of those who voted. Almost 2,000 votes were submitted in total this year! Here is the list of this year’s well-deserved winners:

Get Creative With Our Brand New Imagination Station

We’re pleased to announce the launch of our new Imagination Station – a workshop space within the centre that will be a free local resource to the people of Banbury. You’ll find the Imagination Station located opposite Muffin Break at Castle Quay where we will host a vast array of free workshops throughout the year.

On the 8th, 9th, 14th and 15th August children can enjoy dye-sub printing classes. Between 10am – 12pm children will be able to create their very own unique cushion and between 1pm and 3pm they will be able to make their own designed bags. These sessions will be available to 5 and 12 year olds and will run on a first come first served basis.

Free Dance Workshops at Castle Quay

On Tuesday 6th August and Saturday 31st August a local dance teacher from The Mill will be holding free dance workshops in unit 16 at Castle Quay, opposite Muffin Break.
The classes are free to children aged between 6 and 15 years old and will run on a first come first served basis, so make sure you don’t leave things too late!

We can’t wait to see you there to learn some incredible dance steps from one of the best dance teachers in Banbury.
