Happerley England, the UK’s very first centre to celebrate food and drink provenance,
based in Lock29 Banbury will launch on Saturday August 29. Located at the cross-roads
of England, the new centre will feature some of England’s best produce with the story of
its journey to match. Pulling in visitors from across the nation, this will turn Banbury into
a food and drink hub like no other, engaging both the consumers and the finest
producers who truly value the provenance of their food and drink.
Grab a drink at the bar, satisfy your hunger with some wholesome hot food, explore the
variety on the meat and fish counters, or do your weekly shop in the English Larder.
Happerley England will bring the farmer to the forefront of the conversation and give
visitors a piece of what honest food tastes like. The Centre provides an opportunity for
food and drink producers of all sizes to get involved, to showcase what it means to be
transparent and connect with the consumer in this way.
This new experiential venue will provide consumers with the opportunity to explore the
source of the food on their plate using exciting QR technology for every product. An
interactive shopping experience like no other, which responds to the increasing demand
for more knowledge by consumers, thus driving transparency and sustainability.
The first phase of the Lock29 development, Happerley England, delivers a completely
unique, creative space which pays homage to Banbury’s hometown, while reaching out
to visitors far and wide.
