Mark your calendars for an exciting event that pays tribute to our local heroes and provides a day filled with family fun and important lessons. On Saturday, September 2nd, from 9:30AM to 3:30PM, Thames Valley Police and Banbury Town Council are teaming up to bring you an unforgettable day at Spiceball Park.

Discover the Day’s Highlights:

Step into the world of our emergency services and learn about their vital work. Thames Valley Police, Oxfordshire Search and Rescue, Highways England, and St John Ambulance will all be there, sharing insights and showcasing their vehicles and equipment. But it’s not just about education – there’s a whole lot of entertainment too. A mini fairground, ice cream van, and free face painting will make sure the little ones have an absolute blast.

A Day with Purpose:

This event isn’t just about fun; it’s about raising awareness, promoting responsible use of emergency services, and sharing basic lifesaving skills with the public. Meet representatives from Police, Fire, Search and Rescue, and Ambulance Services to learn more about the essential work they do. Discover how you can get involved through volunteering and various career opportunities within these crucial organizations.

A National Endeavor:

Emergency Services Day, also known as 999 Day, is recognized nationwide and supported by prominent figures including HM The King, Prime Minister, and First Ministers of Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. Founded by Tom Scholes-Fogg, a serving police officer, this day is all about honoring our 999 heroes. It’s a chance to show gratitude for their dedication and commitment.

Extend the Fun:

After soaking up the event’s excitement, treat yourself to Banbury’s finest street food at Castle Quay’s Lock29. Delight in a world of culinary delights, from Mexican to Asian, Greek to Italian, and of course, classic British cuisine. And when it’s time to quench your thirst, head to Tap Social, a craft beer and hospitality social enterprise housed within Lock29.

For families seeking more adventure, the Waterfront and The Light offer a plethora of leisure experiences, from movies to various activities, making it a perfect way to extend the day’s enjoyment.
