Celebrate Banbury Canal Festival at Castle Quay with the launch of the latest edition of Banbury Canal Chronicles, our community-created book inspired by Banbury’s canal, Tooley’s Boatyard and the iconic Dancing Duck.
Join us on Saturday 3rd October for a FREE day of family activities in Banbury, with storytelling sessions from the new book, a special appearance from the Dancing Duck, boat-themed crafts and canal-inspired face painting.
What’s happening?
📖 Storytelling Sessions
Take a seat in our colourful storytelling area and listen to stories from Banbury Canal Chronicles, created with contributions from local children and schools.
🐥 Meet the Dancing Duck
The famous Dancing Duck will be making appearances throughout the day, with plenty of opportunities for children to say hello and take a photo.
🎨 Boat-Themed Crafts
Take some time out from the Canal Festival and get creative, making your own boat-themed craft to take home.
🖌️ FREE Face Painting
Choose from a selection of Canal Festival-inspired designs including ducks, pirates, boats and more.
Pick Up Your Copy
Copies of Banbury Canal Chronicles will be available for a suggested donation of £2.50, with proceeds supporting Tooley’s Boatyard and the work they do to preserve an important part of Banbury’s canal heritage.
