On Tuesday, 7th April, Castle Quay was transformed into a vibrant hub of creativity and canal-side celebration. The event marked the successful launch of our new community book project, the Banbury Canal Chronicles, and we were honoured to see so many families join us for a day of free, fun activities.
A Look Back at the Highlights
The day was packed with energy and imagination as the community came together to celebrate Banbury’s local heritage:
- The experts from Orinoco Banbury led a fantastic hands-on session where visitors turned recycled materials into unique, canal-themed masterpieces.
- Our creative workshop was a hive of activity. Many of you shared wonderful stories and drawings about Tooley’s Boatyard and the canal, officially kicking off our community book project in style.
- The Great Duck Trail: The hunt was on! Families followed the trail through nine Castle Quay brands, “Quacking the Code” for a chance to win an incredible prize package including a boat trip on the Dancing Duck and a family meal at The Light.
Don’t Miss Out on the Next Adventure!
We had a “quacking” good time, and the fun doesn’t stop here. Castle Quay has a calendar full of exciting community events and workshops planned for the coming months.
